Are ceramic straightening irons much better for your hair than the regular ones? And are they as effective?
I am extremely thick and frizzy hair, i have had a hot tools flat iron for five years which finally died. I just want whatever is best out there.

Yes, ceramic irons are better for your hair. Make sure you have a heat protectant spray.
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=12169683 This stuff is what I use, and it is absolutely wonderful! You just spray it on your hair, lightly comb through it with a wide tooth comb and then straighten your hair.
If you want the best there is out there, I suggest CHI straighteners.
