I have a conair 2 inch ceramic flat iron, some neutrogena hair serum, fruitis long and strong leave in hair creame, coconut oil….and some other stuff. I am planning on doing my hair straight 4 tomorrow but I want to know if anyone has any suggestions?
I have almost waist long hair, curly and wavy but a little dry by the ends..

Whats the best way to part it?
Any tips?
*** IN REGARDS TO zellery’s answer–
I am not looking to make a decision on if I want to do it or not or if it looks good or not.

I already know how it looks but I want to improve the way I do it…

Tips people not life advice.

I have getting all the waves out of the back part…

well, if u had a curly dry hair…since then, its time now to change style for a special gathering….this will give you a chance to try things …from curly to straight at same time get..opinion from friends comments..

straighting hair must be done a one day before the gathering, specially if u have a curled curly hair….and also try to see if it fits and looks beautiful for you.

and the next day is only enhancement of your hair or deciding what style your up to…..

but dnt forget that curly hair are also inn but mind you if its dry…..

gud luck and enjoy the gathering…remember that there is no greater thing than being natural and simple…and being what you are…enjoy girl…

Okay, so you’ve never really straightened your hair? I suggest to put the serum and/or hair creame in last, and definitely use sparingly. Put it on just the ends, if you put it on the roots, you r hair will look greasy. Ew.

To flat iron it, you will need a brush, and big "alligator" clip, and make sure you plug in your straightener at least a couple minutes before, depending on what kind it is and what it says. For first use, also, it will probably take longer. First, clip back all of your hair except for a small chunk, and STRAIGHTEN THE BOTTOM FIRST. Start at roots, and slowly pull down. Keep doing this until that part is completely flat. Then you can move onto another part. Keep doing this layer by layer until it is straight.
You could either straighten it tonight and do touch-ups tommorow, or do it all tommorow. However, since you have long hair, I would do it tonight and tommorow.

For the part part, it really depends on how it looks good with your face frame/hair. If you want a middle part, I suggest kind of flipping your hair back every once in a while during the day so it isn’t just laying flat on your face. Side part looks good w/ bangs. Also, you could put a little clip on the top of your head or something like that. Play it up a little.

All these things should really help, trust me, I straighten my hair pretty much every day. Rememebr, don’t overdo the product. It should only be used to help your dry ends. I don’t use any product so that my hair is lighter and softer. Oh, and please, make sure your hair is clean (your hair has to be dry thought before you straighten it)

    Hope you like the results!

I’d suggest doing it in the morning. That’s when I do mine. Otherwise, mine tends to bend from sleeping on my pillow and I end up having to redo it.

Go easy on the leave in hair creme. It’ll just weigh the hair down. Personally, I’d leave it out all together, or just use it on the ends. Use the hair serum and make sure you put plenty on the ends. All I use is hair serum after blowdrying.

I use a side part and have bangs. After I flatten mine, then I use a large (2") barrell iron to add a little shine. I don’t actually curl the hair, I just smooth it over the sections of hair. The flat iron tends to take the shine out. This helps put it back in a bit.

I have pretty much the same hair and what works for me is the following: wash it, make sure it is fully dried (blow dry or air dry, makes no difference), put a DAB of any of the products you mentioned in your hand and apply most of it to your ends, some to the body, and only a little to your roots (a lot on the roots will make your hair oily), then straighten little sections at a time (best is to tie most of the top up and leave only a little underneath down.straighten in small chunks and when you’re done with the bottom layer part another layer and do that in small chunks, etc.) A side part is cute, down the middle is kind of plain. When your done put a little of whichever product you want, the same way as before. I suggest doing it at night because it might be a little poofy at first if you’re inexperienced. This way you can go over it again in the morning. Make sure the iron is HOT, but not too hot that it will burn your hair. If it’s not hot enough it won’t get really straight. good luck!

if you have at least 3 hours in the morning ok,

    other wise do it 2night.
section it off in about 10 sections do right side back middle to left side Good luck

Its best to do it fresh with a silicone product. In small partings at the bottom of your nape while parting it off so you can easily manage to do more as you move along.Leave the hair somewhat damp NOT WET.Go over each piece 3 times slowly.A con air is okey, however the very best is Bio -ionic Iron.It has a volcanic ash on the ceramic and while slamming down the cuticle it does not scorch or burn your hair.It is giving your hair a conditioning treatment that lasts and would cost you several hundred dollars in a good salon. It is putting negative ions back into the hair as the positive ions are the dry ugly ones that should be trimmed.Hair technology has come out with ceramic irons and steam irons for a fast application. If you take your time in doing it your hair may last for a couple days.Try to buy a non oil based product for smoothing.Helps keep the hair cleaner longer.Good luck.

well, if you have bangs, i always put mine on my right side. and i would do it in sections/layers to make sure it’s straight. good luck!! (i know how hard i can be w/ long hair- my hair used to be that long before i cut off 10 inches to donate to Lock of Love)
    :)

Sounds like you’ve got all your gear ready to go. I would deep condtion your ends tonight, to put some moisture in them before you heat style them. You could do it tonight and retouch tommorow, or just tommorow if you ahve the time. Part it in the middle, or on the side, clipping it behind the ears (maybe) since your hair is so long. See if you can get some assistance to keep your arms from giving out on you. Good Luck.

my hair is the same. do it tonight and then redo tomorrow because it will not take as long and it will look good. but how to part it is to take small amounts start from bottom of your head work your way up to the top. when your done put some of that coconut oil, do not put too much of it. good luck ; )
