Ceramic Hair Straightener Iron

is flat-ironing your hair bad for it?

i’ve heard both sides of it. i realize the factor of the heat, but someone said it was moist heat and not as damaging to your hair. i have a ceramic flat iron and i have to use it everyday with my new hairstyle or my hair poofs out. i do the minimal amount necessary to keep my hair flat and on low heat. so second question, if it is damaging, how can i help minimize the damage? are there any shampoos/conditioners/leave in treatments that will help nourish the hair?

well yes it is cause i fries your hairr..
well to help damages.. buy hair damgeing spray..
and spray on before and after your straighten your hair..
but make sure you do not straighten your hair while its wet..
cause that could reallly kill off your hair..
i am currently going to school for cosmo..

Yep, and I do it every day. :D

Get a heat protecting cream to put in on wet hair befre you blow dry/straighten, such has L’oreal Hot Straight

I have a wet to straight iron, and i don’t use it everyday. If you want to use it every day then you might want to get a different kind. I don’t think you can minimize the damage, if there is any.

Hot oil treatment and damaging repair shampoos(e.g. sunsilk) there are many shampoos and conditioners that repair your hair’s imperfections. Search the google site. You’ll find a lot!

I always had my hair in layers and naturally my hair are wavy so i always had to straighten my har up cuz thats how i liked it but i cant tell you how much the ironing has damaged my hair..they r rough, lost their shininess, i have lost heaps of hair…so i’d suggest NO, try not to use those straightners! even those ceramic ones….use it rarely cuz ud regret it later on…its not only me…all of my friends n their friends whoeva uses it regrets it later on…you wont see the damage in week or months it’ll show after a year or so..

only home made remdies might work cuz all the shampoos n condtioners also have chemicals n all so try home remedies such as:
    1 egg
    juice of one lemon
    3-4 table spoon of yougurt…
mix it all up really well and then apply to your hair especially your roots…leave it to dry for bout 30 min to hr…then wash it as you normally wash your hair…you’ll notice your hair is shiny n silky…works really well for dandruff as well…

Straightening your hair is the worst thing you can do. It removes shine, gloss and natural oils your hair contains. You should try experimenting with different styles, like using hair putty to make your look really edgy. If you really have to straighten it, you should get your hair deep conditioned regularly as this puts essential nutrients back into your hair and my help to curb the long term damage caused by straighteners.

Yes. You can get a heat protection spray. That helps it to prevent your hair from ” Frying ”. One that I recommend is the SUAVE one. They make a good one.

yes , im a hair dresser for tony and guy and every day i see people with bad hair because of this. first thing you need to do is get yourself a mousterising shampoo and conditioner and then buy yourself 2 heat protection sprays, one when youe hairs wet and use the other one right b4 ur gonna straighten your hair . also buy a weekly deep conditioner which you shud leave on 8 minutes or so. youll soon see the difference and youl find your hair gets better, also i find that heat isnt the issue its how many times you go over one piece of hair e.g a low heat appliance you will have to go over your hair about 3 times before its straight. with ghds etc you only need to do that once. hope this helps

I heard it was bad to have a perm && straighten it.

it damages your hair some if you flat iron it every day but its not gonna make your hair fall out and be bald or anything drastic like that….

    best wishes
